Here is a recipe for Chili Chocolate Cookies that will add some bit of spice to your next cookie creations.

Ingredients
1 cup dark chocolate chips
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup dried currants
2 eggs
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
2 ounces bittersweet chocolate
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons coffee flavored liqueur
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Equipment:
Mixing bowls
Baking sheets
Parchment paper
Saucepan
Mixer

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, black pepper, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. Mix thoroughly and then set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the currants and the coffee liqueur over low heat for two minutes until it starts to simmer. Remove the heat and then set aside.
  3. Combine unsweetened chocolate, bittersweet chocolate and butter in a separate bowl. Place the bowl on top of a saucepan filled with 1 inch of water and set over low heat. Stir the chocolate mixture until melted for about five minutes. Remove from the heat then set aside.
  4. In another bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar for five minutes until light, fluffy and pale yellow. Whisk in the vanilla and the melted chocolate mixture slowly.
  5. Add in flour mixture into sugar and chocolate mixture. Mix them together until combined.
  6. Add in the dark chocolate chips and the liqueur soaked currants.
  7. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough into the baking sheets two inches apart from each other.
  8. Place the baking sheets inside the oven pre-heated 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C. Bake for around 12 minutes. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for five minutes.
  9. Transfer the cookies to a cooling rack to cool completely.
